Estimate only. Working capital is typically 80%–150% of one month’s average deposits, floored at $75,000 and capped at $750,000 in-house. Factoring advances 90%–97% of invoice face value. Final terms are set by underwriting on a complete file. This tool uses the same three thresholds we underwrite to. It is not a credit decision and it does not touch your credit.

Why the 24-month rule exists

Motor carriers with fewer than two years under their own authority have an average three-year failure rate of 85% (FreightWaves, August 2026, citing Mitsubishi HC Capital America).

Under 49 CFR Part 385, a new carrier is also inside an 18-month FMCSA new-entrant monitoring window and must pass a safety audit in its first 12 months — authority can be revoked by a regulator for reasons that have nothing to do with the bank account.

We will not write an unsecured advance against that. We will factor your invoices from day one, because factoring is secured by the broker’s credit, not yours.

Why we print this

Most trucking lenders won’t tell you their numbers until you’ve handed over your bank statements.

We publish ours because the alternative wastes your week. A carrier running one truck at $18,000 a month does not need to fill out a seven-page application to find out we won’t write a $20,000 advance. He needs to know that in nine seconds, and then be told the thing that actually works for him — factoring his delivered loads at 90 to 97 cents on the dollar, same day, with no time-in-business minimum.

Everything above is what we actually approve to. If your file clears it, we fund. If it doesn’t, we’ll say so on the first call, not on day nine.

What carriers use it for

The four things that take a fleet down, and what they cost.

At a 0.4% average truckload operating margin (ATRI, 2025 data), three bad months closes a carrier with no cushion. These are the three months.

The engine goes

$18,000–$45,000

An in-frame overhaul: $9,500–$26,000 in parts, $8,500–$19,000 in labour at a $110–$185 shop rate. The truck earns nothing the whole time it sits.

Insurance renews

$51,000 / yr

On a five-truck fleet, at $10,200 per truck. $15,900 per truck in year one on new authority. Premiums rose another 6.4% in Q1 2026 — the fastest-rising cost line in trucking.

Fuel float

$4,800 / truck / mo

At 48.2¢ a mile and roughly 10,000 miles a month. Paid at the pump, every week, before any broker pays you.

The broker pays in 45

45 days

You paid the driver on Friday. Driver wages are 81.8¢ a mile — the largest single line in your cost structure and the one that cannot wait.

More than 8,000 DOT-numbered companies shut down or lost authority between January 2024 and March 2026, and small fleets of 1 to 20 trucks were about 70% of them. Over the same stretch truck posts fell 25–30% while load posts rose 25–27%.

If you are still running, you are in the minority that cleared it — into the best rate environment in three years, with the least competition in three years. Adding a truck right now is the cheapest capacity decision you will make this cycle. That is what we fund.

Questions carriers actually ask

Answers, with the numbers in them.

Can I get trucking business funding with bad credit?

Yes. Linehaul Capital has no minimum FICO on any product. We underwrite six months of business bank deposits, your authority age, and your power-unit count. Personal credit score alone does not decline a file. For invoice factoring we don’t run personal credit at all — we check the broker who owes the invoice.

How much revenue does a trucking company need to qualify?

$60,000 or more in average monthly business bank deposits over the last six months, for working capital, term, line of credit, and equipment financing. Invoice factoring has no revenue minimum.

How long do I need my own authority?

24 continuous months in “authorized for-hire” status for Track 1 products, and 12 months for equipment financing because the unit secures the note. There is no minimum for invoice factoring — we factor day-one authority.

Can an owner-operator get funded?

Not for a working-capital advance — we require 3 or more power units, or 2 on specialized authority. Owner-operators are funded through invoice factoring: 90–97% of the invoice, same day, no time-in-business minimum, month-to-month, no termination fee.

How fast is funding?

Decision the same business day. Money in 24 hours on working capital. Invoice factoring funds the same day on loads delivered and documented by 1:00 PM ET.

What documents do I need?

Six months of business bank statements and your MC/DOT number. No tax returns under $250,000, no business plan, no collateral on working capital. Factoring adds a signed notice of assignment, rate confirmation, signed BOL or POD, W-9, and certificate of insurance.

Do you fund freight brokers?

No. Linehaul Capital funds asset-based motor carriers only. Brokers and 3PLs without owned or leased power units are not eligible for any product.

Is there a penalty for paying early?

The opposite. Pay off early and you get up to a 30% discount on the remaining balance.
