Six products · One set of published criteria

Six ways to fund a motor carrier. Here is which one you’re on.

Most funding sites make you guess which product fits. In trucking the answer is usually determined by two facts you already know: how many power units you run, and how long you have held your own authority.

If you run 3 or more units with 24+ months of authority, you are on Track 1 and every product below is open to you. If you don’t, you are on invoice factoring — which is not a consolation prize. It is the product most carriers your size should be on anyway, because the problem isn’t a capital shortfall, it’s a broker paying in 45 days.

Side by side

Every product, every threshold, in one table.

Nothing in this table is behind a form. These are the numbers underwriting actually reads.

Note the deliberate exception. Equipment financing carries a lower authority bar (12 months) and a lower unit count (1), because it is secured by a titled asset we can recover. That is an honest structural difference, and it keeps a real path open for the single-truck operator who wants a second truck.

The decision tree

Four questions, in order.

  • You have delivered loads and brokers owe you money. → Invoice Factoring. Any size, any age of authority.
  • You run 3+ units, 24+ months, and need cash for something that is not a truck. → Working Capital if it is one lump; Line of Credit if it recurs.
  • You are buying a truck, trailer, or reefer unit. → Equipment Financing. Lower bar, because the unit secures it.
  • You are buying a yard, a shop, or another carrier. → SBA or Term, through our bank and SBA partners. Slower, cheaper, more paperwork.
  • You run 1–2 units and want working capital. Factoring first. Build six months of invoice history with us, add the third truck on equipment financing, and you are a Track 1 file.

Not eligible for any product

  • Carriers under an active FMCSA out-of-service order
  • Carriers whose only receivables are from a related-party shipper
  • Carriers with an open involuntary bankruptcy

Why the 24-month rule exists

Motor carriers with fewer than two years under their own authority have an average three-year failure rate of 85% (FreightWaves, August 2026, citing Mitsubishi HC Capital America).

Under 49 CFR Part 385, a new carrier is also inside an 18-month FMCSA new-entrant monitoring window and must pass a safety audit in its first 12 months — authority can be revoked by a regulator for reasons that have nothing to do with the bank account.

We will not write an unsecured advance against that. We will factor your invoices from day one, because factoring is secured by the broker’s credit, not yours.

Three questions and you know your track.

Power units, months of authority, average monthly deposits. That is the whole screen.
