Track 1 · Arranged through our bank lending partners
Term loans for carriers buying something that lasts.
A fixed amount, a fixed monthly payment, a fixed end date. Term loans are the right instrument when you are buying another carrier, building out a yard or shop, or consolidating expensive short-term paper into one predictable number.
Term loans above $250,000 are arranged through our bank lending partners. They price better than anything we can write in-house at that size and duration, and they take five to ten business days instead of twenty-four hours. That is the trade.

Not eligible for any product
- Freight brokers and 3PLs with no owned or leased power units
- Carriers under an active FMCSA out-of-service order
- Carriers whose only receivables are from a related-party shipper
- Carriers with an open involuntary bankruptcy
Why the 24-month rule exists
Motor carriers with fewer than two years under their own authority have an average three-year failure rate of 85% (FreightWaves, August 2026, citing Mitsubishi HC Capital America).
Under 49 CFR Part 385, a new carrier is also inside an 18-month FMCSA new-entrant monitoring window and must pass a safety audit in its first 12 months — authority can be revoked by a regulator for reasons that have nothing to do with the bank account.
We will not write an unsecured advance against that. We will factor your invoices from day one, because factoring is secured by the broker’s credit, not yours.
What it’s for
Four things worth a five-to-ten-day timeline.
- Buying another carrier. Authority, contracts, equipment, and drivers in one transaction.
- A yard, shop, or terminal buildout. Fence, lighting, lifts, a lube bay.
- Consolidation. Three daily-debit advances replaced by one monthly payment is usually the highest-return thing a struggling fleet can do.
- A replacement cycle. Six tractors at once, priced as one note.
The trade-off
Cheaper and slower, or faster and dearer.
A term loan is cheaper and slower. An advance is faster and more expensive. If you need money this week, you do not need a term loan — take working capital and refinance into term in ninety days. If you can wait ten days, do.
Questions carriers actually ask
Term loans, answered.
How is this different from working capital?
Lower cost, longer duration, fixed monthly payments, more documentation, five to ten business days instead of twenty-four hours. See working capital.
Who underwrites it?
Term loans above $250,000 are arranged through our bank lending partners. We package the file, manage the process, and stay your point of contact.
Do I need tax returns?
Yes, two years plus a year-to-date P&L above $250,000.
Can I use it to pay off merchant cash advances?
Yes. Consolidating short-term advances into one term payment is one of the most common uses.
Is collateral required?
Varies. Often a blanket UCC above $500,000.
